You need to make sure that they’re fully insured. Not only having workman’s comp insurance, which is required by the license board, but also having liability insurance which is not required. So here at Richard Louis Construction in Orange County, we have full coverage. We have liability and workman’s comp. So you can feel comfortable when your project’s being done.
Workman’s comp only covers the workers that are there, that are working on your project. If one of them gets hurt performing on your job, the workman’s comp covers that. So they can get the health care they need after being hurt and so on.
Liability insurance is for if something happens that the contractor or someone can be liable for…perhaps a water leak, or an accident that causes harm to anyone or damage. Anything in that particular case would be covered by liability insurance.
